Yaddo Presents: An Evening with Josh Riedel
In partnership with P&T Knitwear, Yaddo presents an evening with Josh Riedel to celebrate his debut novel, Please Report Your Bug Here, an inventive millennial coming-of-age story about the power of human connection in our digital era. Josh will be joined in conversation by Emi Nietfeld, author of the memoir Acceptance, and Vanessa Chan, author of the forthcoming novel The Storm We Made and the forthcoming story collection The Ugliest Babies in the World. Josh Riedel was the first employee at Instagram, where he worked for several years before earning his MFA from the University of Arizona. His short stories have appeared in One Story, Passages North, and Sycamore Review. Riedel’s adrenaline-packed debut novel Please Report Your Bug Here is about a dating app employee who discovers a glitch that transports him to other worlds. Riedel lives in San Francisco, California.

Emi Nietfeld is a writer and software engineer. After graduating from Harvard College in 2015, she worked at Google and Facebook. Her essays have appeared in The New York Times, The Rumpus, and Vice. She is the author of Acceptance: A Memoir. Nietfeld lives in New York City with her family.

Vanessa Chan is the author of the novel The Storm We Made and The Ugliest Babies in the World, a story collection — both forthcoming from Scribner books. Vanessa’s other work has been published in Electric Lit, Kenyon Review and Ecotone. She co-curates the 20+ year old Pete’s Reading Series, Brooklyn’s longest running live literary venue.
