In partnership with Northshire Bookstore, Yaddo is delighted to present a very special literary event with the masterful and beloved writer Amy Hempel, who was recently awarded the Yaddo Artist Medal. Hempel’s long-awaited fifth book of fiction, Sing to It, came out to resounding acclaim this spring. The author of such luminous collections as Reasons to Live, The Dog of the Marriage, At the Gates of the Animal Kingdom, and Tumble Home will join us for a conversation with Yaddo’s President Elaina Richardson. The event is free, with limited seating. Click here to RSVP.

“The sentences are simple and the stories are short, but the speed of their connection is breathtaking.”—The New Yorker

“At once stark and resonant, witty and plaintive, buoyant and wistful, and this collection one of the most original and beautiful in recent memory.” –The Boston Globe

“She’s an irreplaceable literary treasure who has mastered the art of the short story more skillfully than just about any other writer out there. Sing to It is a quiet masterpiece by a true American original.”—NPR
