The Yaddo Summer Benefit 2022

THE RETURN

In this year of revival and recovery, we were delighted to invite the community back to Yaddo for a festive evening attended by longtime supporters, artists and friends, including hundreds of patrons from Saratoga Springs, Albany, and the Capital District.

Yaddo President Elaina Richardson warmly welcomed guests and expressed gratitude to donors, committees, and the local businesses who gave food, flowers and silent-auction items, noting that proceeds from the Benefit play a crucial role in ensuring Yaddo’s residency program continues to flourish.

An evening highlight was a performance full of wit, humor and vocal acrobatics by singer and performance artist Joseph Keckler whose songs garnered laughter and admiration from the crowd.

All told, this year’s Summer Benefit was a roaring success! Together, we raised about $200,000 for our residency program. THANK YOU!

Joseph Keckler is a writer, singer and multifaceted creator who often zeroes in on moments of daily life and spins them into absurd and affecting underworld voyages.  Hailed by The New York Times as a “major vocal talent… who shatters the boundaries… with a trickster’s dark humor,” Joseph appears widely, having performed at Lincoln Center, Centre PompidouNPR Tiny Desk and others. His writing has appeared in McSweeney’s, VICE, and elsewhere, and in 2018 his first essay collection Dragon at the Edge of a Flat World was published by Turtle Point Press. This year he is an artist in residence at Dartmouth and The Ringling Museum, and is currently working on new films and recordings.

A highlight of the Summer Benefit is our incredible Silent Auction. Select items have both in-person and remote bidding. Check out the offerings!
