Rumaan Alam is the author of Rich and Pretty, That Kind of Mother and Leave the World Behind, which was nominated for the 2020 National Book Award and hailed by The New Yorker as “enthralling.” The novel, set in the Hamptons, is soon to be a Netflix film starring Julia Roberts and Denzel Washington.
